What means heaven What means hell

Do you buy that binary

As states of mind they may do well

But not final Reality

Eternal hell does not exist

It is a hurtful fantasy

A blot on all who still persist

In hawking a sad cruelty

I speak of prisons on the ground

I speak of prisons inside us

That’s where hell indeed is found

And help often denied us

Our failure lies in cowardice

We fear to trust and love

We’d rather punish and torment

Things we are afraid of

And so we throw solutions out

And kill hope for the good

Though good is what life is about

Let that be understood

To love the harmer is the key

Forgiving’s the solution

In loving and forgiving we

Unlock a revolution

Heaven means love everywhere

Hell is terminal

Much of our job is repair

That’s why help is germinal
