A Theory of Heaven and Hell 9
Have I dispensed with hell yet yes and no
Remember evil still is real
There is no place called hell to which we go
But we still lie and kill and steal

And we have conscience spectrum that we are
Regardless how far in debt we may be
We sense it within when we’ve gone too far
We know when we’ve acted harmfully

And so we can see hell as something true
Hell is us lost in our evil ways
Thus we must confess the wrongs we do
And bring an ending to these evil days

Sometimes hell is not within our sight
Many evils lie beyond our view
Our taxes may send bullets through the night
But we cannot hide the wrongs we do

We need to see the real hell we create
And know how all the wrongs we do get done
We do not need a wizard to relate
The many ways that evil runs

Wherever things fall into enmity
Wherever poverty leaves tempers frayed
Wherever there is grim complicity
We must admit the choices we have made

Wrong votes wrong values can make wrong persist
Hiding from evil just denies what’s true
Wrong is corporate results exist
Own the truth of all we do

But in our spectrum there is room for change
The hell we make recedes as we repent
We own our wrongs we seek to rearrange
Our lives should parse more with what Jesus meant
