AWOL

He never sought leave in his life
He never asked he took at will
He never tried to do a thing
Saw things he wanted took his fill
+
He had no Rosebud sled to love
Parents were there he did not care
The simple signs of power were few
There’s no such thing as foul or fair
+
His nonstop propositions flowed
He noted notoriety
And clung to it as if ‘twere gold
Then debt came ‘long and set him free
+
Now he sits in a driver’s seat
Not knowing how to shift a gear
The truth in numbers hidden ‘way
He’s waiting for prompts to appear
