i voted my conscience, what could i do, and here i am locked outside

outside of your love, outside of your willingness to see my heart-color’s not dyed

i didn’t choose to hate you when i drew that black line

i didn’t even it count it a risk

but now that i see that white heat in your wine

i wonder if this stain can be whisked?
