Everything Starts with Reality
Reality is all.
Reality is everything.
Nothing is unreal.
In Triadic Philosophy, the only measurable negatives (binaries) lie in such terms as
true and false,
beautiful and ugly,
loving and unloving.
Something that is untrue is still real.
Things we do not know are real.
Things yet to be discovered are real.
Reality is a profusion of what we know and do not know and we are those who seek out nuggets of truth and beauty within our experience of all we encounter.
Things we suppose may be untrue are real.
I have no proof the resurrection is real. If I believe it is true, that belief is real. We cannot know the truth of all we believe until we have scientific, experimental, measurable evidence.
Reality as all, as everything known and unknown, supposed and proved, witnessed truthfully or not, is the root term of Triadic Philosophy.
Reality (first, root of root triad)
Ethics (second, index of root triad)
Aesthetics (third, expression and action element of root triad)
Reality is the source of all signs, the origin of all comprehension, the beginning of everything, the everything to which everything tends. It is close to what Charles Sanders Peirce describes as a First.
Attend:
“Firstness is the mode of being which consists in its subject’s being positively such as it is regardless of aught else. That can only be a possibility. For as long as things do not act upon one another there is no sense or meaning in saying that they have any being, unless it be that they are such in themselves that they may perhaps come into relation with others.” CP 1.26
(There are several online locations for Peirce sources among them this.)
“One very important triad is this: it has been found that there are three kinds of signs which are all indispensable in all reasoning; the first is the diagrammatic sign or icon, which exhibits a similarity or analogy to the subject of discourse; the second is the index, which like a pronoun demonstrative or relative, forces the attention to the particular object intended without describing it; the third [or symbol] is the general name or description which signifies its object by means of an association of ideas or habitual connection between the name and the character signified.” Peirce: CP 1.370
Reality is the source of signs, of what first forms when one consciously thinks. All consideration has its origin in signs. Signs encounter indices and emerge as acts and expressions.
Triadic Philosophy begins with Reality, what we bring to the process. A feeling, a sense, a need. Triadic Philosophy is a conscious method of consideration.
Reality meets Index. The result is a determination we call Aesthetic. The Aesthetic moves in the direction of truth and beauty fused. The result may be an expression. An action. Or both.
We are known by our fruits, our expressions and actions.
Triadic Philosophy enables to move through an Ethical index to an Aesthetic expression and action.
It starts with Reality. It becomes new reality. It is one with the continuity of life, fallible yet forward moving, evolving adding to the sum of reality.
