Frank Bruni thinks Trump is setting a trap. It’s much simpler.
Response to Bruni’s column on this subject published in the NYT.
I admit I read this speedily but did Bruni anywhere suggest the magic words? The words he would use to repair things? Does he believe MAGA coming from anyone but Trump would have had legs?
The problem is there IS a problem. The problem is running out of oil and its impact on the world. Those who own the oil and related businesses including the military apparatus of the world are running scared because they fear the relentless march of demographics.
When that march delivers the country back to us, we will not need slogans or anything else. All we will need is a willingness to switch from binary and stupid messages and policies to long term, sober and positive solutions that no one with any sense believes will be easy.
We would not have now without the analysis suggested here, simple and true. So forget messaging, remove Trump and retake the country.
Speak honestly about oil politics.
Neither MAGA or Yes I Can will save us.
All Trump will do is make winning back more imperative and pleasant when it happens.
