I am waiting for something better

The tell in this article is the condescending attitude to those who refuse to go with the Medium model which is definitely a firewall. The reason a firewall on Medium is distasteful is that it puts a premium on myriad publications who must jump through hoops to comply with company notions of what is OK. I refused to play when I saw what was coming.

The writer ignores the fact that the advertising model works famously if it is a model that actually works. Google showed it works when everyone can benefit by playing. Google eliminated the middle person. Operations like FB and Twitter could have done the same thing but they decided to make a living off of free content providers.

I am waiting for something better.
