I Cannot Prove A Thing

If I could prove a Big Bang it would not

mean a hill of beans

If I could disprove it I would not jump for joy

I can barely prove my memories

If I could prove this world is not charade

I would be most surprised

For all the incomes we elaborate

And postures we all recognize

Not being able to prove much of anything

from ghosts to resurrection

I’m strangely happy in my ignorance

As certainty provides directions
