IS IT DUALISM TO BELIEVE SOME THINGS ARE EVIL?

Dualism is frowned upon

With good reason

It perpetuates division

Jesus suggests division

Is the parent of all wrongs

But there is clearly evil

Even if we say it all comes from us

From individual and collective wrongdoing

It registers

It hurts

It harms

It sows lies and deceit

But to see this is not relapsing into dualism

Being against hurt and harm

Is summoning all of us to choose a higher way

It is not dualistic to oppose

War and violence

It is calling us to the higher unity

Of living balanced and peaceful lives

Nor is it dualistic to say

There are higher and lower ways of life

All we are doing is

Saying all Souls will one day be unified in love

All the universe is nothing but love

When our behavior contradicts this

We do not hate a transgressing Soul

We opt for non-punitive understanding

Dualism is divisiveness for the sake

Of one side

In our world

There are no sides

But we can and should

Stand fast against clear evils

That ravage us all by their

Harm and hurt
