Moon Curse

Curse comes with with the moon
phase pulling the tide to shore
hungry mollusks awaiting to feast
on my algae ridden brain
cresting waters test all boundaries
mating gravity breeds instability
atmospheric shifts, inbred intentions
pull all rationality into undertow
these currents contort thoughts
thrashing body into beast
riptide plays ring-around-the-rosie
laughing as it spins into abyss
only with the turn of tide
will I be hurled towards the shore
dizzy, spitting, gagging for breath
the moon, smiling as she turns away
smirking, as if to say
don’t worry, love, I’ll be back for more
