No I do not expect recommendations

They do not come and I have given up on trying to figure out the “system”

But since I have this blind faith in the salience of what I say, I say it whether anyone reads it or not.

Example:

My contention that CARS are on their last legs has been proclaimed for fifty years. It’s still true. Only today the blindness is more and the consequences increasingly dire.

Now to Medium. It could serve all of us by helping us earn, but it cannot provide the income. That has to come from a global market reachable mainly by publishing books that are cheap and good. I have outlined that here.

What Is dead wrong is that ANY strategy for income via online advertising of any sort is as wrong as the hand-wringing about the rudeness of people messing with their phones. In both cases the activity is intensely bothersome but in both cases it will pass.

Yes, advertising will pass and I will explain. The true reality (some things are real but lack truth) is that advertising itself is largely a bust. And there is a simple reason. It no longer serves us if it ever did. It merely interrupts and bothers and blocks and annoys. It could avoid this sin by doing something else. Stay tuned.

As far as news goes, reality is all so everything is news. The main thing we need is a means of evaluating things. We have it. All we need is a capacity to measure harm in a way that is understandable and acceptable to most if not all.

Start with conscious killing and inflicting of injury. Talk of good and evil in every day understandable language.

Universal Ethical Benchmarks Applicable to All Individuals, Groups and other Entities

Here is what I propose.

More and more it will become obvious to all that we must solve our future by a radical decrease in fossil fuel consumption and a radical increase in the quality of our actual lives which are deficient at the point of community, security and and, more and more, clarity due to media failure to apply elementary values to perceptions. (Example: Lying is conscious unhelpfulness, close to homicidal. EG: Cigarette science.)

Public movement is not served by more and more private vehicles and more and more delving above and below the earth at costs so huge that it would take but a burst bubble or two to put them out of marketability.

When I think of someone who robs Peter to Pay Paul I think of the great Elon Musk, making his cars while sitting on the model of universal human movement which is called Hyperlink. I am not talking about what it is but what it can be. It does not need to be the jazzy half hour to LA to the Bay Area thing that gets the buzz now. It just needs to take the place of most global air and underground transit and be scaled to the human environment. Elon should move to Hyperlink and stop building cars.

So:

Having lost you, bemused reader, I shall now complete today’s ignominy by positing a true future for advertising.

Advertising should help pay for future ground transportation by in effect using it to communicate with us. The fact that it gets us around disposes us to favor it.

If you read my retrograde and ill-presented Kindle work Cyber Communities you will see that the future involves more walking in car-free areas and more public linking of these areas by Elon and his friends. It will involve an evolution of building, equality, safety, education, of everything.

Enough said. As I said at the outset, I do not hold my breath any more.
