Nothing

We are becoming nothing

in a world

dominated

by voiceless entities

who need not respond and

are spared the need

to guess there are real people

on the other end

Sadness and anger

have no resonance

in such a world as

contact is not assumed

or desired

or necessary

The only result is

dwindling power

to write into a void

where there is nothing

save four walls that we create

so we imagine something there

in place of nothing
