RUBBER MEETS ROAD

There is a lot of talk that suggests if we just go with the flow

We are all going to be fine

Just relying on ourselves

But, allow me a rejoinder for — rubber meets road

I am talking about reality and specificity

We are actually souls

And we plan our own lifetimes

Those are two contentions that can shock — rubber meets road

What does all of this portend, must we revise what we surmise

I would say well yes I guess

Not too late for awareness

Heaven and souls may not be on our dance card — rubber meets road
