That We Fight At All
That we fight at all is a desecration
of passion into blood romanticism
and ultimate despair
That we fight at all
That our hidden deaths
pervade the mottled skies
pocked with the lethal
poison of the billionaires
is a desecration of the charter of Genesis
where goodness was declared
We were created to not be predators
but to create a democratic world
where there would be no least among
no lost sheep souls
no love gone wrong
The freedom we had was for dignity
Heaven is not for automatons
Or followers
Or slavish worshipers of exclusive creeds
Heaven is filled with angelic consciences
who can unite and separate without one harm
We were not made to fight
We were made to love
To learn love and do right
