We are always moving forward

What is happening is not a return. We never return. We move forward always. Sometimes haltingly as now. Other times with more resolve. That will hopefully come.

Our destiny is to become more tolerant, more helpful, and more democratic. Halts in this progress are due to the binary nature of thought which has been standard, engendering conflict all the while. Triadic thought forecloses violence and counsels patient, frustrating thought leading to fallible, but continual progress.

The needs of the future are communities that can tolerate weather emergencies and become locally viable centers of business, culture, health, and education. These need density but the possibility of knowing our neighbors. Tolerant communities can be both diverse and multi-talented.

Helpfulness consists of a hand up, education and enablement. Communities must be forward-moving, spirited and sensitive to the need to know more and achieve more. Only local, free education suffices to make this a possibility for all.

Democracy today is in its infancy. It has suffered atrophy and opposition. Neither is justified.
Democracy is rights for all. It is a voice in governance for all. It is a spirit that should pervade all households and all communities.

The reason the world is as it is is that we are on the cusp of realizing triadic understanding as a universal norm and sending binary back to where it can do some good. We are moving from one-sided fantasy to many-sided reality.
We do not need the nation-state anymore. We do not need war anymore. And we do not need an education which is more part of the existing structure of power rather than an independent voice for tolerance, helpfulness, and democracy.
