The heartfelt way is the Jesus way
We may have a mind that blocks it
Our intellect is the frail lost reed
When it comes to loving our neighbor

When it comes to loving the heart prevails
And Jesus is all heart forever
Just as was said in a long ago text
That happily needs no revision

The heart way is Jesus’ way. That is the truth
And Jesus is our global teacher
He seeks not allegiance but self love for us
So so we can love just as he teaches

Heed well for this teaching can often be missed
As we seek to learn what sustains us
Cleave to the heart and to Jesus as well
And he will be your life companion
