There is no greater revolution

than one won unarmed

The greatest truths cannot

be said in words

Every word is fraught with baggage

it collects

Words become a barrier to next

+

You see this prayer was not meant

to be locked in a religion

No more than Jesus was intended to

be frozen in a creed

+

Universal goodness is

embedded in us all

A universal prayer should be

our universal call

+

Twelve lines declare

that heaven is

goodness made real here

Hallowed is the holy one

a friend who holds us dear

+

Twelve lines declare all should be fed

all wrong confessed

Twelve lines give freedom in exchange

we cancel wrongs of all

+

Twelve lines warn us of freedom’s toll

when we are led astray

Deliverance from evil is

escaping harm’s lost way

+

This is a prayer that heals and mends

and leads us to glory

It is a universal way to be

a chapter in that story
