Actually all punishment’s absurd
From harsh words to old-fashioned spanking
From stupid penalties to cruel treatment
From lawyer profit to posturing judge

But since the civil penalty obtains
When jail time hard would not be recondite
Why not extend the favor to all others too
And add in understanding crime instead
