The Rest of the Story
I have come to feel that a democratic revolution is underway. Arab Spring was a false start brought down by binary thought. If there are only two sides they will conflict. The third will persist until a peaceful way forward is found.
We inherited binary. We are moving to triadic.
Religion will not be overthrown as much as dropped. It cannot be part of a triadic world because like many other things, it claims authorities it does not have and excludes non-believers. The dropping is going on all about us as people understand that spirituality requires a universal perspective.
So in this sense overthrow is not the right word. Gravity will not fail in this case.
