If a tide can be said to favor

If a side can be said to exist

Why then the tide is on our side

I make it there are those who think they are right

And those who do not know but hope

The latter do not know if we will soon lick warming

Or control the nukes

Or even up economies

But we hope some sort of power will prevail

And why bursts of honest joy

Are not just here or there

But everywhere

Less dependent on anyone but

We’ll reckon with what needs to be
