There is no way to know what our future is

A NYT comment

There is no way to know what our future is but there is certainty that our bodies are terminal. I believe there is such a thing as consciousness and that this may survive the death of the body. My reasons for doing so have to do with theology. I see no way that justice can be fully done unless people face their own existences and come to terms with their actions and expressions. I think when this is done most will freely decide to reject the values they chose that led them to evil. I believe heaven is meant to be here. I have no idea what happens to consciousness beyond my present experience of it. And no one else does either save as supposition for which no proof exists. I think we can hardly talk of anything these days because of the economic underpinning of everything we do. I do not think theology is something you can do for pay. Or that suppositional ventures should be commercial. For this reason I support basic income. Theological reasons support it.
