Thought Giver

Everything you say comes out as poetry

each thought its own stanza

each conversation its own poem

you question things I accepted as truth

searching for the deeper meaning

finding your own answers

every time a word leaves your mouth

a part of your soul is revealed

but I want to see all of it

It would be a beautiful thing

to get inside that mind of yours

and see how thoughts come to be

the process of selecting each word

stitching them together, forming ideas, plans, hopes, dreams

and even worries

to know what you think in the car all alone

what you dwell on when you can’t sleep

what comes to mind when you first wake up

because each thought is so lovely

and how generous you are to freely give them

for me to hold
