Triadic Philosophy Evolved — Spirits, Souls, Us

I have intentionally used provocative terms to suggest our reality. I consider us human beings to be spirits. I consider us to have or to be souls. I consider love to be continuous and matter to be only part of reality.

I am neither a realist nor an idealist and neither are those who claim to be one or the other. Realism and Idealism are philosophical straitjackets whose binary state should be a red alert. As a Triadic philosopher I wait for science to affirm Reality and for the world’s religions to affirm it as well.

The contribution of historical Idealism to the present intellectual milieu is diminished when it must appear to deny the manifold realities of material existence. This is not necessary. All that is needed is to confirm that there is no real distinction between the Real and the Ideal.

Reality is not matter and it is not ether. It is everything there is. Language is the casualty of an age moving inexorably into a semiotic understanding of how reality manifests itself to human beings. The all-ness of Reality cannot reduce itself to fit the shrunken garments of past understandings.

It is a sign of this that Ethics and Aesthetics are clearly among the stellar contributions language can make to our enlightenment. Without these two realms of knowledge and commitment, philosophy is ill-equipped to move as it must. The destiny of philosophy is to be the means by which spirituality becomes universal.

We are spirits because there is within us and in all reality what we call consciousness. This defines us finally as beyond our material bodies. Souls may be a synonym for spirit or the entities that enclose spirit.

Confusion about the realm beyond our immediate senses is not an argument for saying it does not exist. It is an argument against referring to things we do not experience as though we could generalize from one account or even a cluster of accounts to suggest that we actually know how other dimensions work. We are confined as always to knowing what we experience.

The parsing of spirits, souls and us would benefit by a release of science from its captivity in the material realm. Thousands upon thousands have had experiences that cry out for scientific method applied to existing and incoming data.

We need to have a comprehensive science that incorporates the subjective realms of human experience. If we can invest billions in Higgs, we can invest the same in determining what our spirituality is about.

Triadic Philosophy is a simple but powerful antidote to what we have had. We have not seen philosophy as a universal understanding We have not had a philosophy that forms an unbreakable link between the individual and what is common to all individuals.

We are spirits, souls and us. That is a scientific fact waiting to become hypotheses, theories and universally accepted facts.
