Jesus saw himself as building a structure. At its base there were large stones. That is where he was in his progress with Abba. And what stones! His death was a huge stone. It overshadowed him. Even on days when he accepted it, he tried to think of a way around it.

Forgiveness was the biggest stone of all. But he had been told already that his efforts would fail. He would never convince the world to accept the elementary formula he was already living by. He would end up telling stories because almost no one would accept the simple truth.
