Bio

That falling boot is just reality telling us we are not

the best participants

We have not thought about inventions

that we need

Instead we have used rare components

to create gadgets on the model of our past economies

Buy them and then throw them away

Believe there will be the same tomorrow

Proceed to let what is be what will be

Do not act sad when it is not

Keep your chin up by cultivating blindness

+

Now I shall tell you what inventions might just save

us from this happenstance

The inventions that we need are

just one thing

Some on- or just-below-ground substitute for the

waste that we have made of transportation

Pods that can be powered with air

They can connect new communities

They can waft speedily across all seas

Use old useless highways for fun

Oh and did I say we won’t need airports

+

We will have moved ahead by

mindfulness

To tell us what this coming thing

will end up making different

We turn to what will reduce the

very bulk of energy

It is the walkable communities that

will spring up

connected by these airy pods

You don’t believe this can be

No more having to borrow

There comes a time we’ll finally come to see

Do not act sad

perceive the plot

There comes a time when people value kindness

the way some people used to value gold

when gold was valuable
