‘Who is the creator?’ from “The Adventures of the Teen Jesus Part Two”
“Who is the creator?” Jesus asked. “You speak. Do you create? Were you at the beginning?”
“The creation, Jesus? Who creates? The creation is what it is. It unfolds. It becomes. Of course I was there at the beginning. Do you know how long ago that was? Of course I create. We all do. Speaking is creating.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Relax, Jesus. There is no need to apologize. I was the first utterance. The first sign. The first speech. I was there. I watched time passing. I witnessed the growth of creation, still do, the firmament, Jesus, the spread of Reality, time unfolding. Magnificence, Jesus, magnificence.”
“Did you create it?” Jesus persisted.
“Jesus, creation is! Would it be here if I was not? I would not dare to answer. Would it be here if you were not here? Clearly. Yes. The creation is. Everyone born is part of it. Everyone. Everything. All.”
“What was before us? I mean before there were people?”
“A great unfolding. Wondrous. And then a huge event. A simple thing. An ancient mother lost her child. Not unusual. But an amazing thing happened. There was an act of sympathy. Of comfort. A reaching out. I actually cried. That was the first breath of human freedom, Jesus. Sympathy. One being for another. The meaning was huge. The crown of creation was, with that one event, set to emerge.”
“What emerged?”
“A rapid unfolding. All over. Minds became ever more aware. Things moved faster and faster. There were great difficulties too.”
“What.”
“People were freer and freer. Good. But freedom allows many responses. Many gave up their freedom. They simply followed others. Others misused it.”
“Whose fault was that?”
“Everyone has choice. If you have choice you can do good or harm. There are many sorts of harm including following others instead of turning to me. Those who do harm and know it are at fault. That is most people.”
“There would be no creation without you.”
“I bear the purpose, Jesus. But you and I create together. Creation is never one person. It is two or more working on behalf of still more.”
“We create.”
“We do. That’s true. And we will. More and more.”
