When I discovered Systems Thinking it was as if I discovered a key unlocking many of the doors (problems/opportunities) I’d run into doing my work and solving problems. Suddenly I had this magical way of seeing and mapping the world, it’s influences and relationships in a new way. I started seeing the world differently, solving problems in new ways, introducing new types of solutions and logics.

Analytical thinking helps us understand how stuff works, system thinking helps us understand why stuff works the way it does.

#3. How to make a system map (in the simplest possible way)
You want to make a system map if you are trying to: a. figure out what leads to more or less of what you want to achieve, b. if you are trying to get an overview which removes everything that doesn’t matter, c. you want to make sure you include everything that does matter or d. all of the above.
