I am an avid platelet and blood donor and I have made a good effort to make sure I continued donating during the pandemic.

At some point, they added a new section in their app that told you whether you had COVID antibodies. I was always negative.

I had my first vaccination. A week later I gave platelets. It still showed no antibodies.

I waited until just before I had my second vaccine. My donation was on the 21st, my second vaccine on the 24th. Woohoo! I am antibody reactive. I’ll continue my science experiment to see how long it lasts.
