Iran has indicted 10 officials for their role in the 2020 shooting down of a Ukraine International flight.
On January 8th of last year, a 737–800 operated by Ukraine International took off from Tehran bound for Kiev (Kyiv) with 176 souls on board. Minutes later, the flight disappeared from radar.
Initial reports tried to point to an engine fire and loss of control as the cause of the crash. A few days later, Iranian military officials cited “human error” and admitted that missile operators had mistaken the flight for a military one, firing 2 surface-to-air missiles at the jet.
