Is there anything that captures this moment in history better than a dance instructor filming herself as a coup unfolds behind her?

Khing Hnin Wai danced in a traffic median as a military coup unfolded behind her in Myanmar.

“I wasn’t dancing to mock or ridicule any organisation or to be silly. I was dancing for a fitness dance competition,” wrote Ms. Khing. “As it isn’t uncommon for Nay Pyi Taw to have an official convoy, I thought it was normal so I continued.”

The mundane married with the surreal. A crisis on one side of the street, banality on the other. So it goes in 2021.
