Long-term relationships require getting over three progressively taller fences:

Fence #1: The Attraction Phase. For two people to have a shot at a relationship, they need to be attracted to each other first. But attraction is only the start of a relationship, not the finish line.

Fence #2: The Personality Phase. While you might find your date attractive, it doesn’t mean you’ll enjoy being around them for long stretches. Couples in this phase are just getting to know each other’s personalities: Work vs. Play? Thriller vs. RomCom? Homebody vs. Partygoer?
