Microsoft goes back to the market to purchase Discord; rumor has it that the software giant is negotiating a joint venture. The values on the table should exceed 10 billion dollars. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, is the mastermind behind the deal.
Discord is a trendy communication platform among the gamer community, with over 140 million monthly users and $130 million in revenue by 2020.
Sources close to the process have also advanced that if the negotiation does not come to a good end, there’s already an alternative. In the past, Epic Games and Amazon also revealed their interest. Besides, Discord can easily go public, opening itself to investors.
It’s not known for sure how the negotiation with Microsoft stands presently, but it will probably be a while before there’s a final decision and the parts announce the deal terms.
