Russian race driver shamed after giving a Nazi salute at the European Karting Championship Podium Ceremony.
The winner of the opening race of the European Karting Championship in the OK-Junior category made a provocative gesture.
I was there last Sunday, in Portimão, and saw Russian driver Artem Severiukhin give a fascist salute at the podium as the Italian anthem was played. He was racing under the flag of Italy due to sanctions imposed against Russia. It’s not uncommon for drivers to race under licenses that don’t reflect their nationality.
