Viktor Medvedchuk, Putin’s main ally in Ukraine, was arrested by the Ukrainian secret service.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy broke the news on Instagram by publishing a photo of a shackled Medvedchuk.

In February, Kyiv said Medvedchuk, the Opposition Platform — For Life party leader, had escaped from house arrest.

Reuters cites Ivan Bakanov, head of the secret services, who announced how his operatives had “conducted a lightning-fast and dangerous multi-level special operation” to arrest Medvedchuk without disclosing further intel.
