What does it mean to be ‘un-Southern’?

Rue McClanahan’s Blanche Devereaux liked to say on The Golden Girls, “It would be un-Southern!” What is ‘un-Southern’? Alabama humorist Kelly Kazek once listed some things that qualify.

An apt example involves funeral etiquette. It’s un-Southern to bring pre-packaged potato salad or any store-bought dish to a visitation, Kazek wrote.
