On May 23rd, 2014, Elliot Rodger killed six people and injured 14 more in a series of stabbings, shootings, and vehicle assaults in Isla Vista, California. Beforehand, he posted a long manifesto online detailing his frustration with his inability to find a girlfriend; his victims were women and people he perceived to be sexually-active men, because he was jealous.

On October 1st, 2015, Chris Harper-Mercer shot and killed a professor and eight students at Umpqua Community College, injuring eight others. He announced the attack beforehand on 4chan’s /r9k/ board, and he left a manifesto at the scene expressing his anger and frustration as a virgin who couldn’t find a partner. He also wrote about his fascination with Elliot Rodger.

On April 23rd, 2018, Alek Minassian drove a van through crowds of pedestrians in Toronto, killing ten and injuring 16 others. Before the attack, he posted on facebook that “the incel rebellion has already begun,” concluding, “All hail the Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger!”
