What is a Post Feminist World?

There is no such thing as a post feminist world. The premise that there was a feminist world, and now it is gone, is ridiculous. The reason the premise is ridiculous is that feminism is a way of looking at the world, rather than a stand alone concept. Feminism has been tarnished, used as a political tool, to create a culture of self doubt, generally by those who benefit.

There is a way to combat this culture of self doubt. Commentary about events can be constructed to put women on the defensive. There isn’t a woman on the planet who has not had to respond to this type of uncalled for criticism by a family member, friend, boss, or acquaintance.

Scrolling down to the comments, after watching several Youtube videos, from well known speakers, at the D.C. Women’s march, I was shocked at the intensity of negative comments, and the women who felt a necessity to defend themselves, to what presented as a coordinated male response.

There is no answer to the creation of individual, positive, internal self esteem. It is built each and every day, moment by moment, comment by comment. Moving forward in this gnarly forest is not going to be easy. Don’t respond, just let the comments sit there. You are better than that. Know it.
