Bridging Assets to Evmos with Nomad and Connext
We are excited to announce that Nomad and Connext will be deploying their bridging solutions to Evmos. With Nomad and Connext, institutions and end-users will be able to send value and call data between the Ethereum and Evmos ecosystems. This will allow Ethereum and other EVM chains’ ERC-20 tokens to be available on Evmos and subsequently the entire Cosmos ecosystem via IBC.
Unlike validator-based bridges, Nomad does not rely on a large set of external parties to verify cross-chain communications. By leveraging an optimistic mechanism, Nomad reduces the trust-assumptions needed, as just one honest off-chain watcher is sufficient to enable safely messaging between chains. Additionally, Nomad supports arbitrary message passing from day one, enabling app developers to build natively cross-chain apps (or xApps) that can execute smart contracts on different chains in one logical instruction.
Transferring Value Using Connext and Nomad
The Connext and Nomad bridging solutions complement each other, servicing both institutional and smaller retail value transfers.
Connext
The Connext solution allows users to quickly and inexpensively transfer small to large values across chains. This solution is intended for high-frequency transfers and works by leveraging liquidity pools provided by routers on the sending and receiving chains, without touching Ethereum L1 when going between L2s or other systems and without introducing any new trust assumption. Users transferring value across chains use these liquidity pools to facilitate fast and low-cost transfers. Learn more about how Connext works by visiting the official documentation!
Nomad
By leveraging an optimistic mechanism, Nomad lets users send messages and bridge assets securely, with the assurances that anyone watching can flag fraud and protect the system. The main trade-off Nomad makes is in introducing a dispute window to settle fraud proofs.

About Connext
Connext is the interoperability protocol of L2 Ethereum.
Connext enables sending value and calling contracts across Ethereum-compatible chains and L2s. It is the only interoperability system that does this cheaply and quickly without introducing any new trust assumptions. Connext is aimed at developers who are looking to build bridges and other natively cross-chain applications. To date, over $1B in transactions have crossed the network.
You can bridge through Connext using xpollinate.io
About Nomad
Nomad is a novel interoperability protocol designed to lower costs and increase security of cross-chain messaging. By leveraging an optimistic mechanism, Nomad lets users send messages and bridge assets securely, with the assurances that anyone watching can flag fraud and protect the system. The main trade-off Nomad makes is in introducing a dispute window to settle fraud proofs.
Additionally, developers can use the Nomad SDK to build cross-chain applications (or xApps). More than just sending tokens, Nomad is a channel for passing data. Fundamentally, this enables developers to compose smart contract calls across chains. Imagine cross-chain lending or governance — bridging is just the start.

About Evmos
Evmos is an application-agnostic chain that will be interoperable with the Ethereum mainnet, EVM-compatible environments, and other BFT chains via IBC, making it easy for users and developers to interact seamlessly between chains. Evmos aims to be the EVM Hub of Cosmos, making it easy for smart contracts to deploy and communicate within the Cosmos ecosystem.
