Post-Exploit Policy for Active Vulnerabilities (SAFU)

Security is a top priority for the Evmos Core Development Team.

We not only prioritize building and maintaining a safe chain, but we also:

• Identify potential vulnerabilities and
• Create pre-emptive agreements to mitigate the impact on our developers and users.

Our Simple Agreement for Funding Upload (SAFU) is a perfect example.

This legal agreement covers our post-exploit policy for active vulnerabilities in the Evmos blockchain.

Here’s a brief overview:

SAFU outlines an easy way for white hat hackers to safely return exploited funds for active vulnerabilities in exchange for 5% of the exploited total. If the funds are returned in accordance with SAFU, we won’t take any legal action.

This means we’re kindly offering a grace period for hackers to return what was taken without legal consequences!

Why offer a safe haven for hackers?

We hope this preemptive agreement mitigates the downside of active vulnerabilities. The portion returned to hackers is a reward for helping us identify vulnerabilities in the network.

You can sleep soundly knowing the Evmos Core Development Team is on top of its game, taking all necessary steps to ensure the protocol’s safety and safeguard against future vulnerabilities.
