We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Evmos Foundation Delegation Program Cycle 1 review. After thoroughly evaluating numerous applications, we are excited to share the outcomes and showcase the incredible support from our validators and community.

Our primary goal is to promote the decentralization of the Evmos validator set to strengthen network security. At the same time, we believe it’s important to acknowledge and reward validators for their sustained contributions to the Evmos network.

The Foundation Delegation Program operates as a means to identify and support exceptional validators who have demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to the network’s growth. To achieve these objectives, the Evmos Foundation allocates delegations of up to 10% of the total staked tokens on the network, with a cap of 50 validators per delegation cycle. Delegations occur on a rolling 6-month basis, ensuring a fair and adaptable approach to recognition and reward.

With the Program in place, the Foundation now has a system to allocate delegations and will stop its existing delegations. Moving forward, we plan to delegate following the Program’s outcomes. The Foundation’s rewards from staking will be used to improve the onboarding experience across the network, for example, by providing liquidity to decentralized exchanges on Evmos.

As we unveil the results of the Foundation Delegation Program’s Cycle 1, we celebrate the strides taken toward a more secure, decentralized, and collaborative future for Evmos.

Meet the Validators

We’d like to thank all 63 validators who applied for Cycle 1 of the Evmos Foundation Delegation Program for both your efforts to help the network grow and the time taken to apply. A special acknowledgment is reserved for the teams that may not have scored enough points in this cycle to receive delegations. Your continued contributions to our community are truly valued, and we eagerly anticipate your renewed application in Cycle 2.

In response to the large number of high-quality applications, we have decided to increase the total amount of delegations from 5% — as stated in the original program’s proposal — to 10% of the total bonded tokens in the network to provide more substantial support to our validators.

For this cycle, we selected 42 validators to receive the Evmos Foundation delegations with a total amount of 21,961,050 EVMOS tokens. Each validator’s amount depends on the points earned following our Scoring System, with the highest delegation reaching 1.9 million EVMOS and the lowest being 36,000 EVMOS.

We are happy to share the list of the validators and corresponding delegations they are set to receive in this cycle with you. Your collective efforts are pivotal in driving the decentralization and growth of the Evmos network!

Most points were given out in the “Community and Governance” category, which includes (but is not limited to) local community management (localization), content creation, and participation in Evmos governance. We are pleased to see that Evmos validators promote the network and update the community in Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Turkish, and more languages — moving us closer to our vision of a fair financial system accessible to everyone, everywhere.

The evaluation showed that numerous Evmos validators contribute to the network’s infrastructure — with 11 validators providing highly available RPC endpoints on Mainnet and 22 applicants running a validator on Testnet.

Cycle 1 applications gave us a clear picture of what kind of contributions we’d like to see more in the future. A few points were given for adding code contributions, technical documentation, and learning materials — we hope this improves in the following cycles!

Receiving the Delegations

We are currently setting up the delegation deployment. As of writing, the Evmos Foundation is moving funds allocated to delegations to its new Multisig account created specifically for the Program. All payouts should be completed by the latest 22nd December.

The delegations for Cycle 1 will be taking place until June 7th (24 weeks total), after which the re-evaluation period for Cycle 2 commences. The application period for Cycle 2 will be announced on our channels.

We are very excited about the successful launch of the Program’s inaugural cycle and are looking forward to seeing its positive impact!
