Evocargo is the developer and provider of autonomous cargo transportation services. The company was founded in 2020. In just two years, it has expanded to offer a comprehensive logistics solution encompassing everything from autonomous vehicles to fleet management software and analytical tools that can help big businesses optimize their logistics workflows.

At Evocargo, we design our products with efficiency, safety, and a greener future in mind. We believe our cutting-edge technologies can help create safer, healthier workplaces that are less prone to human factor-related incidents or delays.

End-to-end service

Evocargo’s flagship service facilitates uninterrupted freight transportation in enclosed areas, such as plants, warehouses, air and railway cargo terminals, seaports, and industrial facilities.

Our service includes:

  • Preparing the infrastructure
Our vehicles can operate in various infrastructures, so no critical changes are normally required. However, we can install charging stations and a garage if needed. Additionally, our specialists analyze the setting and plan routes before sending the vehicles to the site.
  • Deep integration
As an end-to-end solution provider, we are ready to seamlessly integrate with the customer’s automation software and hardware. We can work with a TMS and WMS deployed or help the customer choose such solutions for logistics management. Moreover, to achieve the ultimate efficiency in all processes, we can integrate with equipment that is already being used on-site, for example, with warehouse automation (forklifts and shuttles).
  • A fleet of Evocargo autonomous vehicles
Our electric-hydrogen vehicle that is entirely developed and assembled by Evocargo. It can accommodate 6 EUR-pallets or up to 2 tons of cargo.
  • Fleet management
The remote management center conducts real-time tracking of the fleet across the map and monitors its performance. We also offer a mobile app or a web service for our customers’ employees to use for assigning vehicles to a route.

  • Optimization of logistics processes
We help optimize our customer’s processes, not only monitor the vehicles. We analyze a rich data set including the vehicle’s trajectory, load, unload, and idle time, and detect when any process proceeds irregularly or inefficiently. We then notify the customer and help them identify and implement the best practice.
  • Customer support
We deliver the vehicles to and from the customer’s site, provide technical maintenance and resolve any issues that may arise during fleet operation.

Safe by design

Right from day one, our commitment to safety has driven all our decisions in design, technology, development, and testing. We have adopted a multi-pronged approach to creating a safe solution and integrated the safest technologies and processes into every aspect of our transportation service:

  • To ensure non-collision safety, our computer vision system detects all types of obstacles on the road and stops the vehicle or changes its trajectory if needed. An innovative combination of stereo and monocular cameras allows the Evocargo vehicle to ascertain the conditions around the vehicle and up to 30 meters away.
  • Our intelligent self-diagnosis system detects any malfunction — for example, if a vehicle can’t get quality images from its cameras or calculate its precise location — and tells the vehicle to slow down or come to a safe stop.
  • Some critical systems continue to operate even when the power supply fails. For example, our autonomous vehicles feature a non-volatile emergency braking system and an isolated power unit for the onboard industrial computer, which records data from all units for analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Physical stop buttons located on the sides of the vehicle allow anyone to immediately and safely stop the vehicle. This is especially useful when you need to stop the vehicle at a precise position for loading or unloading.
  • To maintain accurate data about its location, the autonomous vehicle uses pre-drawn maps of the customer’s site (with lane markings, crosswalks, sidewalks, and other road features), GNSS, and data from sensors.
  • All these systems combined are constantly tested at our testing facilities with real scenario walkthroughs and in full simulation with a surrogate model of our vehicle.

These are just a few of the things that we do to ensure the safe and robust operation of our fleet, and we are building and expanding upon these technologies all the time.

Greener technologies

Powered by electric engine and hydrogen range extender, our vehicles comply with the zero-emissions policies adopted by many companies worldwide. Thus, the Evocargo vehicle can operate both outdoors and indoors — where people work and fumes or exhaust are unacceptable, for example, in warehouses or food storage facilities.

Smart combination of electricity and hydrogen

Our solution is not only clean, but also efficient. After operating all day, the vehicle requires two to six hours to fully charge and get back on the route.

Given the global supply issues for permanent magnets, we have installed asynchronous motors that don’t need them. Our service is therefore immune to such supply issues and the accompanying price volatility.

At Evocargo, we are dedicated to creating smart solutions for businesses to help them transform their logistics processes, make them safer and more efficient. Evocargo’s in-hub transportation service is our first product to be ready for integration at a customer’s site, but we have much more to come. We are currently working on self-driving electric trucks for hub-to-hub transportation. Moreover, we are conducting ongoing research on hi-end technologies in robotics and autonomous vehicles, creating our own solutions, and constantly testing innovations in our vehicles and software.

In this blog, Evocargo’s experts will share their findings, give you an in-depth view of the technologies behind our self-driving vehicles, and tell you more about our software solutions and testing.

Stay tuned!
