Hi, I’m Melinda
but I go by the nickname of Lyndie.
I’m a 65 year old woman originally from Akron, Ohio but I have also lived in Florida, Colorado, Texas, and Tennessee.
I’ve always enjoyed writing, even as far back as junior high school writing for the school newspaper. I especially did well at Dear Suzy Q, sort of a Dear Abby platform.
At the University Of South Florida I received a Bachelor Of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts in 1982 focused mainly in English linquistics, English Literature, and creative writing
I joined Medium back in April, 2023 but didn’t start writing seriously until November 2023.
As of March, 2019, I have been living and traveling abroad.
I lived in Cuenca, Ecuador for 2 1/2 years teaching English as a second language first ina classroom setting, then remotely when the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020.

While living in Ecuador, I also played music in a band called “The Kokopelli Moonlighters” and spent a lot of time practicing and playing out at clubs

In February 2021, I retired and in October 2021, I became a traveling nomad finding volunteer work exchanges thru an online platform called “Worldpackers” found a few hosts on couch surfing,
and took care of some dogs thru “Trusted Pet Sitters”
So far I’ve traveled in Central and South America,
Europe, the U.K., Africa, and Asia.
