There isn’t one way to be productive when writing. Everyone has their method, but writing is always better with a plan in place.

Writing is hard, and it takes a lot of mental energy. As a writer, you might struggle to work and think and be creative all at the same time. If you’re looking for some high-level ideas on how to manage your day, make a plan to boost your productivity.

Here are five tips on what you can do to enhance your writing:

Dedicated Space:

Sit down. The first step is to get into your workspace. So before you dive into your writing, sit down at your table or your desk. Avoid sitting on your bed, as this might make you lazy and sleepy. Look for a creative space to focus on writing.

Set a time:

Choose a time for your writing. For example, writing an hour or two in the morning helps me in this routine. Do not skip the writing session as this will impact your productivity.

Setup a mind:

Kick the apps. Apps are great and can help with productivity, but they can also bring with them distractions and temptations. Turn on the focus mode on your mobile phone which shuts down the app for the duration of the writing session.

Take a deep breath and drink ample water to stay calm and focused throughout the session.

Start Writing and get going with Research:

There are times when you struggle to start writing. Don’t hesitate to start. Just initiate your blog with few words and keep researching about it. You will surely be able to write amazing and audience-grabbing articles eventually.

Complete the task:

Make a point to complete at least 1 article in the morning. The process will give you a feeling of achievement and encourage you to write more. It’s ok if you struggle initially, getting started is most important in this phase.
