I’ve lived in nine countries. In my 20s, I moved to a new country every year. I was used to it. But now, in my 30s, I’m as settled as I’ve ever been. I’m wondering when and if the itch to move will return.
Some places I’ve lived have been traps. Beautiful places that were fun, but that wouldn’t let me grow into the person I needed to become.
A few have been homes. They haven’t held me back, but instead supported me and given me a much-needed sense of security.
When it comes to our homes — is it either a home or a trap, or is it always both?
