When I started on Medium in February of this year, I had a lot of wrong expectations — it happens, but we can get over it by knowing how things work, I failed.

I left Medium you know; I didn’t know what I was doing, I missed a lot of opportunities to grow, but I started to study the platform and understand how it works. That is when I came back in September.

A new vision

I came back with a new vision — learning and sharing, the results will follow. I had to start thinking like that otherwise I would die from trying so hard to go viral on Medium and it would never happen.

I read a lot of the articles by the writers who are having results here, I take the experience of one and the other and apply them to what I have to offer.

But all this I wouldn’t have done if I hadn’t decided to be focused.

How does focus help?

To be honest, this is the thought from a learning experience I took here on Medium.

When I returned to Medium in September I decided to always write and post, and in fact, I have achieved a lot of regularity here. I decreased a little but I’m already returning to being regular, and I could see that here on Medium, regularity does help, but you’ll only be regular if you have focus.

Another thing I had to do to focus was defining a niche that I would always use when addressing you. I write about digital entrepreneurship and content creation.

So you should focus on the process, not just the results.

The process is the best thing, you won’t have any pleasure thinking about the result, but about what you had to do to achieve the result.

Focus on the process, share your thoughts, write as you speak, this way readers will feel like they are talking telepathically with you.
