Autumn is for cool new things

It’s time to follow our guts and do something out of the box

Autumn comes late and abruptly. Over the weekend, it was still hot and sweaty, with a temperature reaching 28 degrees Celsius. This morning, it’s 10 and I’m pleasantly shaking outside a coffee shop in my green Adidas sweater and green vintage jacket. I have 20 pages of The Great Gatsby left to finish today. The book is, accidentally, green as well. I never miss or want autumn, but after this long and high-tempered summer, I welcome the cool air with relief and perhaps even hunger.

It’s cool.

This Autumn is for cool new things. It’s how I feel inside, naturally or, perhaps, conditioned by society — who knows? Maybe all the cool things happen in autumn because it’s just the right time. The highs and lows of summer turn into a straight greyish line of autumn. My moods don’t fluctuate as much. My vision is fixated on smaller things instead of chasing something grand and unachievable. Strangely, as a result, I achieve more by doing less because the things I choose to do are more satisfying and complex.
