The Bahamas National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) authorized the Pathfinders Task Force (PTF) to deploy to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) in Nassau and provide Incident Management Team support two days prior to the impact of Hurricane Matthew. Based on request from the Bahamas NEMA, the following objectives were assigned to the PTF tasking in response to Hurricane Matthew.
- Objective 1: Provide on-scene Incident Management Team support for the Bahamas National Emergency Management Agency during the response to Hurricane Matthew.
- Objective 2: Augment information management processes to improve the quality of decision-support information during emergency operations.
- Objective 3: Provide advocacy consulting and liaison support for international assistance during emergency operations.
PTF has summarized their Lessons Learned from the response to Hurricane Matthew in an After Action Report that is published online for free download. PTF After Action Reports are made available to the public to improve Best Practices for emergency managers and to share first-hand experience in improving decision-support information during emergency operations.
