It’s a tiny question. A polite question.
May I?
But the answers can be loud, messy, and wicked.
This month, we want stories rooted in permission, power, and the charged moment of asking. Who gets to ask? Who has to? What happens when the answer is yes? Or when it’s no — but they do it anyway?
“May I?” can be a whisper in the dark, a smirk at a party, a wordless glance across a room. It can be breathless begging or forced restraint. It can be sweet. Brutal. Mocking. Worshipful. Terrified.
