On September 29th from 4:30 UTC — 7:30 UTC, we are rebranding to FMFW.io. This forms part of a more comprehensive strategy towards continuously improving customer experience and focusing on our brand’s core capabilities. As part of the rebranding, Bitcoin.com Exchange will change its domain and present itself in a completely new look with a new brand identity.

The rebranding celebrates our 2nd anniversary and all the major milestones we’ve reached since the Bitcoin.com Exchange first launched in Summer 2019. We’ve onboarded more than 1,2 million new users, facilitated billions in trading volume, and more than 100 million transactions.

At peak, we were taking custody of more than $227 million worth of crypto assets.

Now, with our new brand, we want to push the adoption of crypto further, as illustrated by our new name FMFW.io

Since their inception, cryptocurrencies have empowered people to be their own banks and take control over their money. With the new name, FMFW.io echoes this sentiment. The acronym “FMFW” stands for “Free the money, free the world” and expresses the exchange’s conviction and deep commitment to being part of the money revolution.

“Within the two years since our launch, we’ve witnessed tremendous changes in the crypto industry. DeFi has come to flourish, and more and more people have started using crypto. We believe that with our rebranding, we show that we’re in it for the long run. We strive to help people buy their first crypto, enter the ecosystem safely, and join us on the journey to free the money, free the world.

— Danish Chaudhry, CEO FMFW.io (Former Bitcoin.com Exchange)

Our new Design

Our new logo is a play on the cycle metaphor for cash flow, movement, speed of action, and decision making. In the logo composition, we deliberately left an open centre to highlight the transparency and honesty our team is holding up as key values.

Colors are an essential part of our brand image. We chose the following two colors for our new logo:

  • #2B2E34 (dark grey)
  • #3BAF4A (green)

The dark grey in our logo symbolizes the stability we look to bring to our users. The green (#3BAF4A) in our brand stands for freshness. It pays tribute to the fact that crypto is a vibrant young industry and might well be where the grass is actually greener.

Website

Our new domain will be FMFW.io. Traders will be able to access services as usual through logging in with the same credentials used to log in at Bitcoin.com Exchange. For a transitional period, we will redirect users from the Bitcoin.com Exchange to FMFW.io.

Once the transitional period has ended, please ensure that you’re accessing FMFW.io. API links will change accordingly and be communicated well in advance.

When visiting our new website, you will notice that our landing page has changed following the outlined branding. Our new website will host more than just the exchange platform. You will find all recent announcements, our podcasts, a blog to learn more about cryptocurrencies, and a glossary to look up relevant crypto terms.

Thank you for being part of our community, and we’re looking forward to your continued support as we “Free the Money, Free the World.”

Check out our new look here.

Please note that wallet addresses/open orders/API keys/whitelists/account credentials/KYC info will not be affected.

Frequently Asked Questions

When are you rebranding?
On September 29th, we will become FMFW.io. The interface of our Exchange, as well as all our social media, will change. This change happens from 4:30 UTC — 7:30 UTC on the day.

What will your new URL be?

https://fmfw.io/, the part after “/” will stay the same as before the rebranding.

How do I log into my FMFW.io account?

Once the rebranding is complete, you can log into your account using the same login credentials and the same 2-FA codes as you used for your Bitcoin.com Exchange account.

I am just seeing a blank page where the exchange is supposed to be. What now?

You’re accessing our domain while we’re making a few changes to present our new brand on September 29th from 4:30 UTC — 6:30 UTC. After that time period, you will get a peak into our new brand and can log in just as before. Funds are safe at all times.

Why is it still saying ‘Bitcoin.com’ in my Auth app?

This part is set when you add your 2-FA. If you want your Authenticator app to display the name FMFW.io, you’ll need to set up a new 2-FA.

What happens to my funds?

If you currently hold funds on Bitcoin.com Exchange, they are safe at all times. During the rebranding, our custody systems won’t be affected. Note that during a 2 hour period from September 29th 4:30 UTC — 6:30 UTC you won’t be able to log in to the exchange as we make changes to our look. Once completed, you’ll be able to log in as usual.

I am using API to trade; when do I need to change?

You won’t have to make any changes to your API keys. Everything will stay the same.

Please note our API root URL will be changed on 29th September too (ONLY root URL, all commands and parameters will remain the same). For example, if you previously used: https://api.exchange.bitcoin.com/api/3/public/symbol/ETHBTC after the migration, you will have to use https://api.fmfw.io/api/3/public/symbol/ETHBTC instead.

Therefore, all you have to do is change api.exchange.bitcoin.com to api.fmfw.io in your bots’ code from September 29th at 4:30 UTC.

Currently, our API supports 415 trading pairs. It is advised to use API version 3.0, we will stop supporting v2 in the future

Will my old referral links work?
You will need to generate new referral links with the fmfw.io domain after the changeover. We will provide appropriate notice and ensure you will be able to generate links.

On 29th September your old referral links will expire and need to create new ones and share them with your friends!

Do I need to change my whitelists?

There is no need to make any changes to your whitelist. You can continue depositing to your whitelisted addresses as before.

Will wallet addresses change?

Wallet addresses won’t change. You can continue depositing to the wallet addresses you’ve been using on Bitcoin.com Exchange. Regardless, before sending any life savings, we recommend doing a test transaction.

Will open orders be cancelled?

No, your open orders won’t be cancelled.

Do I need to pass KYC again?

No, you won’t have to pass KYC again, if you’ve verified with us previously.
