When you do a cardio workout it would usually be a lot of running, stairs, elliptical, biking, etc. Cardio workouts are geared towards losing weight. Weightlifting is usually just lifting weights to build strength and muscle. When it comes to the question of what will help you lose weight the answer is cardio. When You do cardio you burn more calories per session than you would lifting weights. However, weight training does have other benefits like increasing the speed of your metabolism, but the changes aren’t as much as it would be for cardio. Even though cardio will help more with weight loss weight training is also very important to fitness. When you lift weights it’s all about getting stronger and gaining endurance to do other things, like playing sports at a school. Most schools require all of the athletes to take a summer weights program.
